I have yet to pull together a special thing for Julia to make for Nora. But I'll think of something.
Even my Dad is making a cute little something. I'll share about that later.
I thought it would be fun for all the kids to be involved with getting ready for the baby. So Lauren and Kayla got to help make a quilt! They each helped iron some seams and helped me put together about two rows each of squares. (well...rectangles really)
I got some pictures of them practicing their sewing machine skills on some other things.
We were sewing in my Mom's basement which has zero light.
Usually that would discourage me and I would end up taking no pictures at all
(I think I'm more of a perfectionist than I realize)
But I didn't!! I realized it would be better to have the memories grainy than not at all! :o)
A little character growth doesn't hurt. :o)
I love these two pictures of their feet!
(left) Lauren feet - (right) Kayla feet
Excessive pinning?....nah. :o)
I love the way it turned out!
Lilly got to paint a letter to hang in Nora's room!
Now, I know Eleanor doesn't start with an "N" but I think we will mostly call her Nora
and since Evangeline starts with an "E" (Lauren already claimed "L")
We thought it would be less confusing for Lilly to understand it was for Nora and not for Evangeline.
:o)
I adore this project that Lauren did. It only took a couple of minutes.
This will hopefully be something that Nora will love when she is older.
It's getting framed and already has a place in her room.
And I've been busy too! I have a few projects started that are incomplete. Stenciling the wall is going slowly. I've found it easiest to do it a little at a time so it can all dry before I move on to the next spot. I have about half of the wall done. I also have a few baby toys that I am making to go with the thing that my dad is putting together. I'll do another post about that later. And the stenciled wall I'm sure will be revealed when the whole room is done. You can see a sneak peak of it in the background of this next picture.
I found this amazingly adorable bootie pattern to crochet.
Most.complicated.thing.I've.ever.crocheted.
!!!!!
I was shocked it turned out so well! It still needs a button and I have to make the other boot
(what? babies have more than one foot???)
But I think it's cutie pie!
Julia asked the other day what Nana and Dan were making for Nora. HAHA
Apparently everyone else is making something...so it must be a requirement....
I hope Nora learns quickly that there are a whole lot of people that love her to bits.

Precious! Can't wait to see the stencils finished. You impress me with your energy level and efficiency!
ReplyDeleteI so wish I had those talents. Sewing and crocheting ... and painting like Lauren. :o)

Oh give me a break, Kristin. You are a spectacular painter. I wish what was in my head came out on paper like it does for you!
